The accommodation at Shangri-La is spread over three wings, each with its own distinctive vibe. The contemporary Tower Wing houses the grand, sweeping, colonnaded lobby, with its gleaming marble floors and soaring ceilings overhung with glittering chandeliers, and this is where the main hotel services are located, including the concierge service and most of the restaurants. The exclusive Valley Wing has its own driveway and entrance, and a separate lobby in white marble and gold, dominated by a huge floor-to-ceiling mural. It has its own function room -- the State Room -- and at lobby level the grand and panoramic circular Summit Room, serving breakfasts exclusively for Valley Wing clients.
The Garden Wing, newly re-opened in 2011, surrounds a sprawling atrium rich with plant life, ponds and a cascading waterfall, and the decor of all its guest rooms is directly inspired by these verdant surroundings. The atrium also houses the stunning hotel pool, surrounded by fountains, which is illuminated at night with fibre-optic lighting. The Garden Wing has its own separate check-in adjacent to the main lobby.
In keeping with its sophisticated elegance, the Shangri-La offers exceptional dining options at a number of award-winning restaurants, including the stylish The Line, providing international cuisine from 16 culinary stations. At the beautiful Shang Palace, where the theme is "dining in a Chinese garden," floral motifs run through the decor of the exquisite hand-painted walls, and the restaurant showcases Cantonese specialities, with the aim of promoting the fragrance of Chinese cuisine.
